Neuroscience Postdoctoral Positions in Tsinghua University
Time: Mar 28, 2022

Tsinghua Laboratory of Brain and Intelligence (THBI) is conducting a global search for qualified postdoctoral researchers in the area of nonhuman primate neuroscience. THBI is a stand-alone interdisciplinary research institute at Tsinghua University in Beijing. The institute aims to answer foundational questions about the nature of intelligence at all levels (cognition, brain, and artificial systems) through cutting-edge, interdisciplinary research efforts. THBI manages Tsinghua University Nonhuman Primate Research Center (THU-NPRC) located on campus. The center has dedicated animal housing and research facilities with a focus on the common marmoset (Callithrix jacchus), a highly social New World primate species. State-of-the-art facilities at the center allow researchers to conduct a wide-range of studies using marmosets as the model system, from brain imaging, complex social behavior analyses, to brain disease models. The center is equipped with an operating room, a genetic manipulation room, an embryo culture room, behavioral and electrophysiology laboratories, and a high-field (9.4T) animal MRI scanner. The center will be capable of producing genetically modified marmoset models for both basic and translational research projects. THU-NPRC is open to researchers at both Tsinghua University and other institutions in Beijing.

Applicants should have a Ph.D. degree in the fields of neuroscience, life sciences, cognitive science, computer science, electrical engineering or other related fields of physical sciences and engineering. Research experience in the areas of neurobiology, animal behavior, genetics, gene-editing, or large animal brain disease models is highly desirable. While previous experience with nonhuman primates is preferred, it is not required to apply for the positions.

Successful Applicants will be provided with a competitive salary. Tsinghua University gives generous supports for postdoctoral fellows, including campus housing or housing subsidies, child education at Tsinghua University’s kindergarten and primary school, etc.

Interested applicants should send a curriculum vitae, a statement of research interests and future plans, and the names and contact information of three references to <thbi@tsinghua.edu.cn>. Review of applications is ongoing and will continue until the positions are filled. For more information on THBI, please visit our website at http://brain.tsinghua.edu.cn/en/.
