THUNPRC is a modern nonhuman primate research facility located on the campus of Tsinghua University. The Center has dedicated animal breeding and research facilities focused on the Common Marmoset (Callithrix jacchus). Marmosets are a highly social New World primate species. The Center's state-of-the-art facilities allow researchers to conduct a wide range of studies on marmosets, from brain imaging and analysis of complex social behaviors to models of brain disease. As a university-level research platform, the center is managed by the Tsinghua Laboratory of Brain and Intelligence and is open to brain science research teams across the university and in the Beijing area. The center is equipped with operating rooms, genetic manipulation rooms, embryo culture rooms, behavioral cognition, optical imaging, and electrophysiology laboratories. The center is also equipped with a Bruker BioSpec 9.4T small animal magnetic resonance imaging system, which has a maximum aperture of 30 cm, high hardware and software configuration, and complete animal anesthesia equipment. It supports research on brain science, disease modeling, targeted nanomedicine, plant and animal morphology, as well as engineering and technological development, etc. The center has already served many scientific research teams from both inside and outside the university, covering the fields of cognition, medicine, materials, hardware, and software.

THUNPRC has a highly specialized technical team to provide a comprehensive technical support for daily animal feeding and management, diagnosis and treatment of common diseases, surgical anesthesia and monitoring, and postoperative recovery care as well as supporting ongoing research projects. The facility has a 24/7 real-time animal monitoring system and is equipped with a fully functional testing laboratory that includes blood analyzers, urine analyzers, biochemical analyzers, small animal ultra-high-frequency ultrasound systems, digital X-ray imaging systems, and other testing equipment.
