THBI is an interdisciplinary institute that brings together outstanding experts from brain science, computer science, artificial intelligence, cognitive science, and developmental science. Research at the institute aims to answer foundational questions about the mind and brain from an interdisciplinary perspective. As such, graduate students at THBI are expected to take full advantage of the institute’s interdisciplinary nature. Students are highly encouraged to work collaboratively with fellow students, postdocs, and PI’s from a range of areas. To facilitate this interdisciplinary effort, students at THBI do not work in separate offices, but instead work in  student common spaces. THBI also adopts an English-speaking working environment, fostering international research collaborations.
